In challenging weather conditions, standard windshield wipers all too often fail to keep your windshield clean and clear, at times they can even decrease visibility. This is due to the fact that most wipers work on the assumption that drivers are only dealing with water-based obstructions. Although this is often the case, the fact is that every day drivers are also faced with other factors like caked on grime, bugs, snow and mud.

Unlike rain, these kinds of grime tend to stick to windshields, even after a healthy dose of your car's windshield wiper fluid. In these situations, standard wipers tend to smear obstructions from side to side as they scrape over them because they are not actually designed to clean windshields, just to move water.
